Named Variety’s “10 Producers to Watch“, Valerie Steinberg is a creative producer based in Los Angeles, focused on director-driven cinema with distinct creative vision.
Valerie develops, packages, and produces films from concept through distribution, leveraging an international network of filmmakers, financiers, and sales partners. Expertise spans development, casting, budgeting, production, post, acquisitions, festival strategy, and financing structures, supporting bold storytelling with disciplined execution across independent and studio-backed projects.
Recent credits include Executive Producer of A24’s The Inspection (TIFF, Golden Globe nominee), Riley Keough’s War Pony, (Cannes Caméra D’Or winner), Esta Isla (2026 Indie Spirit winner and 3-time Tribeca winner), Motherwitch (2026 IFFR Rotterdam), and Queens of the Dead (Tribeca audience award winner).
She is the Producer of Karmalink, a Buddhist sci-fi feature film in association with XYZ Films, which opened Venice Film Critics’ Week ’21, as well as Ori Segev and Noah Dixon’s Funnybone, currently in post, working with WME.
She is Executive Producer of Disney’s Bite Size Halloween series on Hulu, season 3, which showcases emerging genre filmmakers.
Her award-winning short films – distributed on HBO Max, Hulu, and Criterion – include Hair Wolf (Sundance winner), Blocks (Sundance, SXSW), The Breakthrough (starring Greta Lee and Ben Sinclair, SXSW 2023), Fry Day (dir. Laura Moss; SXSW, Tribeca winner), Rise, Again (dir. Josephine Decker), Coffee Shop Names (Tribeca X), Neo-Dome (SXSW audience winner), Freeze (Oscilloscope), Metronome (in Time) (Tribeca), and Everybody Dies! (SXSW; HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness).
A graduate of Yale University and alumna of Berlinale Talents, Rotterdam Lab, Venice Biennale College Cinema, Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum, Sundance Women in Film Financing Intensive, and the Film Independent Producing Lab, Valerie mentors emerging filmmakers while providing festival, development, financing, and acquisitions consulting within the global film community.
